The Pompadour Rose Pussybow Dress
An ode to the infamous Madame De Pompadour.
Madame De Pompadour was the mistress to Louis XV and was considered the last uncrowned Queen of France. She embodied coquetry, extravagance, frivolity and whim. A fervent patron of the arts and proponent of the pink aesthetic, Madame de Pompadour was the primary figure of establishing Sèvres porcelain as the luxury object of choice throughout the eighteenth-century. "Pompadour Rose" was the luxurious shade of pink coined in her honour.
The Pompadour Rose floral is inspired by the 17th century Rococo movement, and by wallpaper designs found at Versailles. This limited edition piece is unapologetically feminine, infusing its wearer with a potent aura of femininity. Every inch of the body is framed and flattered by a romantic, hand illustrated floral in shades of pink, mint and soft buttercup. The print consists of rococo style roses paired with ornate scalloped stripes, which work to elongate the torso.
The Pompadour Rose Pussybow Dress features an above-knee length finish and high round neckline, this coquettish piece is perfectly accented by a Frenchy-chic matching print pussybow. This dress release comes in a full length sleeve for added comfort. Perfect for a high society tea, or your next date night.
