FAQ

Where are you based?

I work from my studio in Alexandria, Sydney Australia.

Are you open to custom orders?

Yes, I am open to customising my designs and love developing new ideas. However, due to the nature of knitwear, I am only able to do custom orders on the current pieces available via my online store. Please contact me to discuss this further.

Do you wholesale?

I am open to discussion with select retailers I feel fit our brand aesthetic, to create pieces and collaborate.

Do you have a look–book?

Yes, please contact me at sales@mademoisellex.shop for a current wholesale lookbook/linesheet.

Do you do press loans?

Yes, please contact us at sales@mademoisellex.shop for more information.

Do you have any help?

Everything is designed, pattern made and where possible sewn by me in my studio. Due to the nature of knitwear production I am unable to create these pieces myself. But I do love to collaborate. I work closely with graphic artist Adrianna Cicchitelli (Wheels & Dollbaby, Bulla, Nickelodeon) who designed all the original artwork for the Mademoiselle X logo and monogram.

What is your brand ethos?

I do not adhere to any fashion season calendar and simply make pieces that I love. All materials are sensibly sourced and styles produced in very limited quantities. I try to keep functionality, the environment and people’s budgets in mind. I prefer to use vintage fabrics and notions for the trimmings as much as possible, which makes each piece all the more exclusive.

What is your background?

I graduated in 2010 with a BDES in Fashion from Whitehouse Institute of Design, I went on to complete a MEd in Secondary Education in 2012 and various other print courses at Longina Phillips Studio and Ultimo TAFE. Since then I have travelled extensively, freelanced in magazines and worked in both fashion and bridal couture as an embellisher and seamstress.

In that time, I strengthened my love for vintage and rock ‘n’ roll working at renowned Australian rock luxury label, Wheels & Dollbaby Est 1987. When I wasn’t at a Divinyls gig or backstage at Blondie, I often fit modelled for new pieces, styled Telstra Perth runway shows, assisted with fittings, print development and to select that latest Dita Von Teese Cardigan colourway. Managing our online operations, social media presence, I also created visual merchandising displays at the Flagship Store on Crown St.

Since starting Mademoiselle in 2017, I have worked continuously (and at times multiple jobs) to continue to make pieces I absolutely love, and have been so thankful for the support and kind words from you all.
